by Nadia Radwan and Christine Abboud, ARVIMM Seminar, 21 May 2021
Upcoming seminar session: Friday, May 21, 2021, 3:00-5:00 p.m. (videoconference)
“Des histoires décoloniales de l’abstraction. Archives croisées entre Paris et le Moyen-Orient”
Nadia Radwan, Assistant Professor in World Art History, University of Bern, and Christine Abboud
The upcoming session of the ARVIMM seminar will be dedicated to a reflection on archives and the study of abstract artists from the MENA region. On this occasion, Christine Abboud and Manazir Founding Team Member Nadia Radwan will share their experience of the archive. Where do the approaches of the inheritor of a family archive and that of the art historian meet? How can they mutually inform each other? Finally, what role can such dialogues play in the inclusion of other stories of abstraction in art history?
The seminar is public and will be held via videoconference next Friday 21 May 2021. For more information, visit the ARVIMM website: https://arvimm.hypotheses.org/1895
